Padel Mixer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you register for an account, we may collect:
- Name and display name (provided via your Google or Apple account)
- Email address (provided via your Google or Apple account)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Gender (optional, for event organization)
- Skill level (1-5 rating)
Authentication Data
We offer two sign-in methods:
- Sign in with Google: We use Stytch as our authentication provider for Google OAuth. When you sign in with Google, Stytch processes your Google account details (name and email) to authenticate you. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Sign in with Apple: We use Apple's native authentication framework (via Expo Apple Authentication). When you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share (name and email, which may be a private relay address). We do not receive or store your Apple password.
Event and Activity Data
- Events you create, join, or participate in
- Match results and scores
- Chat messages within events
- Activity logs (joins, cancellations, promotions)
Location Data
When you create or search for public events, we may collect your location to show nearby events. Location data is used only for event discovery and is not shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.
AI Padel Coach Data
When you use our AI Padel Coach feature, we collect and process:
- Conversation history: Messages you send to the AI Coach and responses received are stored to provide personalized coaching and maintain conversation context.
- Player profile data: Your skill level, match history (wins, losses, draws), and win rate are shared with the AI to personalize coaching advice.
- Third-party AI processing: Your messages are processed by OpenAI's API to generate coaching responses. OpenAI may process and store data according to their own privacy policy.
You can delete your AI Coach conversation history at any time using the clear chat feature within the app.
Subscription and Purchase Data
If you subscribe to Padel Mixer Pro, your subscription is managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat:
- We do not collect or store your payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses). All payment processing is handled by Apple.
- RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, receives an anonymous user identifier to track your subscription status and entitlements.
- We store your subscription status (active/inactive) to provide access to Pro features.
Device Information
- Expo push notification tokens (for sending notifications)
- Device type and operating system
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Padel Mixer service
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Organize and manage padel events
- Show you nearby public events based on your location
- Send push notifications about events, messages, and updates
- Provide personalized AI coaching through the AI Padel Coach feature
- Track match statistics and player performance
- Manage your Padel Mixer Pro subscription
- Send transactional emails (welcome email, getting started tips)
- Improve our services and user experience
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information with:
- Other users: Your name, profile photo, and skill level are visible to other event participants.
- Service providers: We use Stytch for Google authentication, OpenAI for AI coaching, Google Places API for court search and geocoding, Expo for push notifications, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Resend for transactional emails.
- Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with the following third-party services:
- Stytch: For Google OAuth authentication
- Apple Sign In: For Apple authentication (via Expo Apple Authentication)
- OpenAI: For AI Padel Coach responses (see section on AI Coach Data above)
- RevenueCat: For subscription and in-app purchase management
- Google Places API: For court search and location geocoding when creating events or finding nearby courts
- Expo: For push notifications
- Resend: For transactional emails
Each of these services has their own privacy policies that govern their use of your data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. AI Coach conversation history is retained until you choose to delete it or delete your account. Subscription records are retained as required for financial record-keeping purposes.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Data portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time
You can exercise these rights through the Settings screen in the app or by contacting us.
7. Your Rights (US Privacy Laws)
If you are a resident of certain US states (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah), you may have additional rights, including:
- Right to know: What personal information we collect and how it is used
- Right to delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to opt-out: Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

8. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
- Secure token-based authentication via OAuth providers
- Secure storage using expo-secure-store for sensitive data on device
- Regular security reviews and updates
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
